In the second qualifier held on Friday, Hyderabad defeated Rajasthan Royals by 36 runs and Kolkata's opponent was decided. After losing the toss and batting in Chennai, Hyderabad scored 175 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Chasing a target of 202 runs, Hyderabad needed 20 runs to win in the last two overs. Captain Pat Cummins conceded only 7 runs in the 19th over. 13 runs were required in the last over.
