Nicholas Pooran scored the highest runs in this world cup and give victory to West Indies

                   


West Indies beat Afghanistan by huge margin of 104 runs as Afghanistan were all out 14 runs in 16.2 overs while chasing the target of 219 runs given by West Indies in the on-going t20 world cup 2024 which is played between West Indies and Afghanistan at Beausejour Stadium.

Afghanistan cannot chase the target of 219 runs given by West Indies. They were become all out at just 114 runs in 16.2 overs. Afghansitan Opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz goes for a duck after playinf 3 balls. While, another opener Ibrahim Zadran scored 38 runs in 28 balls including 5 fours and 1 six. Azmatullah Omarzai scored 23 runs in 19 balls including one boundary and one six. Karim Janat and Captain Rashid Khan scored 14 runs in 9 balls and 18 runs in 11 balls respectively. While, another batsman can't add more runs in double digits.

West Indies bowlers become heavy on Afghanistan batsman as they give pressure to the batsman and also takes wickets. Obed McCoy takes the higesht wicket for West Indies as he take three wickets by conceding 14 runs in 3 overs. While, Akeal Hosein and Gudakesh Motie takes equal two wickets for each by conceding 21 runs and 28 runs respectively. Similarly, Andre Russell and Alzarri Joseph take equal one wicket for each. Bowlers did their job and can successfully win the game.

In the first innings, West Indies batsman played a destructive batting from the beginning especially Nicholas Pooran. After dismissal of Opener Brandon King, Johnson Charles started to take his responsibility and played a destructive batting performance. He scored 43 runs in 27 balls including 8 boundaries. While, Nicholas Pooran scored the highest runs in this world cup. He scored 98 runs in just 53 balls including 6 boundaries and 8 sixes. He departs through runout in the last over. He also scored 36 runs in one over with the help of no ball and wide ball. Again, He scored 24 runs in Rashid Khan over in the 18th over. Then, Shai Hope and Captain Rovman Powell scored 25 runs in 17 balls including two sixes and 26 runs in 15 balls including one boundary and two sixes respectively. Due to destructive and contribution runs from batsman, West Indies secure a victory against Afghanistan.

Afghanistan bowlers cannot perform well against West Indies batsman today. Gulbadin Naib takes highest two wicekts for Afghanistan as he take two wickets by conceding 14 runs in 2 overs. Azmatullah Omarzai and Naveen-ul-Haq take equal one wicket for each.

Nicholas Pooran became Player of the Match(POM) due to his destructive batting performance as he scored 98 runs in just 53 deliveries including 6 boundaries and 8 sixes which is the highest runs in this t20 world cup.
