England starts with victory in Super 8

England win their first game of Super 8 after defeating West Indies by 8 wickets with 15 balls remaining as they chased the target of 181 runs in just 17.3 overs by losing only 2 wickets in the on-going t20 world cup 2024 which is played between England and West Indies at Beausejour Stadium.

England chased the target of 181 runs in just 17.3 overs by losing only two wickets. England batsman played really well today and can successfully secure this victory and added two points as well. For England batting, Opener Philip Salt scored the highest runs for England as he scored not-out 87 runs in just 47 deliveries including 7 boundaries and 5 sixes. Another opener Captain Jos Buttler contribute by scoring 25 runs in 22 balls which include two fours. Moen Ali added 13 runs in 10 balls. While, Jonny Bairstow scored not-out 48 runs in 26 balls including 5 fours and 2 sixes. Bairstow and Salt became not-out in the crease finish the gamy by contributing runs for England in just 17.3 overs.

West Indies bowlers cannot restrict the target of 181 runs against England batsman. West Indies did very well from batting but unfortunately they couldn't perform with ball which result them to lose this game. Only two bowlers Andre Russell and Roston Chase take wickets as they both take equal one wickets each.

In the first innings, West Indies showcase their batting performance very well as they made respectable total in the board but sadly due to poor bowling performances they bear to lose this game. For West Indies, Opener Brandon King 23 runs in 13 balls including 3 boundaries and one six while another opener Johnson Charles scored 38 runs in 34 balls which include 4 boundaries and 1 six. Nicholas Pooran batted very well which results he became the top run scorer in this world cup. He complete 180 runs in this world cup after defeating Andrie Gous and Rahmanullah Gurbaz while Gous is in the second and Gurbaz in the third position. In this game, Pooran scored 36 runs in 32 balls including 4 boundaries and one six. Captain Rovman Powell scored 36 runs in 17 balls which include 5 sixes. While, Sherfane Rutherford scored 28 runs in 15 deliveries with the help of one boundary and two sixes.

England bowlers cannot did very well from bowling side but they perform amazing from batting side. Four bowlers take one wickets for England. Jofra Archer, Adil Rashid, Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone all pick one equal wicket for all each.

Phil Salt became Player of the Match(POM) due to his destructive batting performances as he scored not-out 87 runs in 47 balls including 7 boundaries and 5 sixes.
