Bangladesh win against Netherlands by 25 runs

 


Bangladesh are still alive in the game of Super 8 by defeating Netherlands by 25 runs in the on-going t20 world cup 2024 which is played between Bangladesh and Netherlands at Arnos Vale Stadium.

Netherland cannot complete the target of 160 runs given by Bangladesh which results them to lose the game and also they are almost out of the tournament. Netherland batsman cannot add runs by sticking in the ground and helped team to win the game. Opener Michael Levitt and Max O'Dowd scored 18 runs in 16 balls and 12 runs in 16 balls respectively. Vikramjit Singh scored 26 runs in 16 balls including 3 sixes. Sybrand Engelbrecht scored the highest runs as he scored 33 runs in 22 balls with the help of 3 boundaries and 1 sixes. Captain Scott Edwards scored 25 runs in 23 balls including 3 boundaries. Aryan Dutt scored not out 15 runs in 12 balls. While, other batsman couldn't add runs in double digits.

Bangladeshi bowlers perform really well and did their job to restrict the Netherlands and win this game. Rishad Hossain takes highest wickets as he take 3 wickets by conceding 33 runs in 4 overs. Taskin Ahmed take two wickets by conceding 30 runs in 4 overs. While, Mustafizur Rahman, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, and Mahmudullah take equal one wicket for each. Due to the equal efforts of every bowlers, Bangladesh can successfully win this game and make a hope alive to enter into the Super 8.

In the first innings, Bangladeshi batsman make a respectable total and give fightable target to Netherlands and win the game as well. After early dismissal of Opener Captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Middle order take the responsibility and added some runs in the board. While, another opener scored Tanzid Hasan scored 35 runs in 26 balls including 5 boundaries and 1 sixes. Allrounder Shakib Al Hasan scored not out 64 runs in 46 deliveries including 9 boundaries. While, Mahmudullah and Jaker Ali scored 25 runs in 21 balls and 14 runs in 7 balls respectively.

Netherland bowlers give trouble to the Bangladeshi batsman early but middle order batsman take the responsibility thereafter bowlers cannot perform well. Aryan Dutt, Paul van Meekeren and Tim Pringle take two wickets, two wickets, and one wicket respectively.

Shakib Al Hasan became Player of the Match(POM) due to his overall bowling and batting performance. He scored not out 64 runs in 46 deliveries with 9 boundaries with bat while he only give 29 runs in 4 overs with ball.
