Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) maintained their playoff chances by registering a win against Delhi Capitals. RCB is still alive in the race to reach the playoffs by winning by 47 runs against Delhi in the home match.
Chasing the target of 188 runs given by RCB, Delhi could score only 140 runs in 19.1 overs. Akshar Patel, who captained Delhi in this match, scored 57 runs in 39 balls including 5 fours and 3 sixes. Similarly, Sai Hope scored 29 runs off 23 balls. Jake Fraser-McGurk added 21 runs off 8 balls.
Yash Dayal took 3 wickets and Lockie Ferguson took 2 wickets for RCB. Swapnil Singh, Mohammed Siraj and Cameron Green took 1 wicket each.
Before that, RCB, who lost the toss and batted first, made 187 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. For RCB, Rajat Patidar scored 52 runs in 32 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes. After the win, RCB, who climbed to fifth place, has 12 points in 13 matches. Third placed Chennai has 14 points from 13 matches while fourth placed Hyderabad has 14 points from 12 matches.
Cameron Green became Player of the Match due to his overall and batting performance. He contributed 32 runs in 24 balls and with balls; he took 1 wicket with conceding only 19 runs,.
Delhi and Lucknow are also at 12 points. The possibility of five teams for the third and fourth place remains. Kolkata, which is in the first place, has reached the playoffs, while Rajasthan, which is in the second place, also has a high chance.
