Punjab won against Rajasthan

                           

In the only match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) held on Wednesday, the second-ranked Rajasthan Royals lost against the Punjab Kings. Punjab defeated Rajasthan by 5 wickets.

Rajasthan's medium target of 145 runs was met by Punjab with the loss of 5 wickets with 7 balls remaining. Punjab captain Sam Karan played an unbeaten innings of 63 runs off 41 balls including 5 fours and 3 sixes.Similarly, Riley Russo and Jitesh Sharma scored 22 runs each. Ashutosh Sharma added 17 runs.

For Rajasthan, Avesh Khan and Yuzvendra Chahal took 2 wickets each and one wicket remained for Trent Boult.

Before that, Rajasthan, who won the toss and batted in Guwahati, could score only 144 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. Rian Parag of Rajasthan scored 48 runs in 34 balls. Ravichandran Ashwin scored 28 runs while captain Sanju Samson and Tom Kohler-Cadmore scored 18 runs each.

Punjab's Sam Karan, Harshal Patel and Rahul Chahar took 2 wickets each while Arshdeep Singh and Nathan Ellis took 1 wicket each.

Sam Curran became Player of the Match due to his all-round performance of both batting and bowling as he scored 63 runs in 41 deliveries along with he also take 2 wickets by conceding 24 runs in 3 overs.

After the win, Punjab, which has already been eliminated from the playoff race, has reached 10 points in 13 games. Rajasthan, who have reached the playoffs, have 16 points in 13 matches.
