Lucknow Super Giants won the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Tuesday. Lucknow registered a 4-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians in the home match.
Mumbai's target of 145 runs was met by Lucknow by losing 6 wickets in 19.2 overs. Mumbai bowled well in a match that looked a bit difficult for Lucknow towards the end. But in the end Lucknow won.
In Lucknow's win, Marcus Stoinis scored 65 runs off 45 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes. Similarly, captain KL Rahul added 28 runs in 22 balls. Deepak Hooda scored 18 runs. Nicholas Puran remained not out for 14 runs.
For Mumbai, Hardik Pandya took 2 wickets, Nuwan Thusra, Mohammad Nabi and Gerald Kotzia took 1 wicket each.
Before that, Mumbai, who lost the toss and batted, added 144 runs after losing 7 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. For Mumbai, Nehal Wadhera scored 46 runs off 41 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Similarly, Tim David added 36 runs in 18 balls.
Opener Ishan Kisan scored 32 runs. Other batters could not perform as mentioned. Captain Hardik Pandya was out for zero while Rohit Sharma scored only 4 runs.
After the win, Lucknow has climbed to third place in the table with 12 points from 10 matches. Defeated Mumbai is in ninth place with 6 points from 9 matches.
