Openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan scored centuries as Gujarat Titans comfortably beat Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Friday. Gujarat registered a comfortable 35-run win over Chennai.
After losing the toss in Ahmedabad and batting first, Gujarat added 231 runs for the loss of 3 wickets with the help of centuries from two players. For Gujarat, Gill scored 104 runs off 55 balls with 9 fours and 6 sixes. Sudarshan scored 103 runs in 51 balls with 5 fours and 7 sixes. David Miller added 16 runs.
Chennai's Tushar Deshpande took 2 wickets.
In reply, Chennai could score only 196 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. Darryl Mitchell top scored with 63 runs for Chennai while Moeen Ali added 56 runs. Mahendra Singh Dhoni scored 26 runs and Shivam Dubey scored 21 runs.
Gujarat's Mohit Sharma took 3, Rashid Khan 2 and Umesh Yadav and Sandeep Warrier 1 each.
Captain Subhman Gill became Player of the Match due to his brilliant batting performance. He scored 104 runs in just 55 balls with the help of 9 boundaris and 6 sixes.
After the win, Gujarat is in eighth place with 10 points from 12 matches. Chennai is fourth with 12 points from 12 matches.
