Chennai Super Kings beat Rajasthan Royal by 5 wickets

                           

Chennai Super Kings, who registered an easy win against Rajasthan Royals, have a strong chance of reaching the playoffs. Chennai registered a 5-wicket win against Rajasthan Royals in the match at Chennai's home ground and strengthened its chances of being in the top four.

Chennai met the medium target of 142 runs given by Rajasthan by losing 5 wickets with 10 balls remaining. Captain Ruturaj Gaikwad remained unbeaten with 42 runs off 41 balls for Chennai. Rachin Ravindra added 27 runs and Darryl Mitchell added 22 runs. Shivam Dubey added 18 runs.

Rajasthan's Ravichandran Ashwin took 2 wickets while Nandre Berger and Yuzvendra Chahal took 1 wicket each.

Before that, Rajasthan, who won the toss and batted, made 141 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. Rian Parag of Rajasthan scored the highest 47 runs in 35 balls. Similarly, Dhruv Jurel scored 28 runs, Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 24 runs and Jos Buttler scored 21 runs.

Simarjit Singh of Chennai took 3 wickets while Tushar Deshpande took 2 wickets.

After the win, Chennai is in third place with 14 points, with one game to play. Top two teams: Kolkata Knight Riders and defeated Rajasthan have 16 points each in 12 matches. Even though Sunrisers Hyderabad have 14 points, they still have two games to play.

Simarjeet Singh became Player of the Match due to his exceptional bowling performance. He took 3 wickets conceeding only 26 runs in 4 overs.
