With the help of Jos Buttler's excellent century innings, Rajasthan Royals have achieved a record victory in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Rajasthan beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 2 wickets, equaling their own record of chasing the highest target in the history of IPL.
Rajasthan chase the huge target of 224 runs given by Kolkata by losing 8 wickets in the last ball. Before that, Rajasthan equaled the record they had set against Kings XI Punjab in 2020.
Opener Butler scored 107 runs in 60 balls with 9 fours and 6 sixes in Rajasthan's victory today. Needing 9 runs in the last over, Butler hit Varun Chakraborty for a six off the first ball. After losing the toss, Kolkata scored 223 runs with the help of Sunil Narine's century after losing the toss. Narine scored 109 runs off 56 balls by hitting 13 fours and 6 sixes. Similarly, Angrish Raghuvanshi scored 30 runs while Rinku Singh added 20 runs.
For Rajasthan, Avesh Khan and Kuldeep Sen took 2 wickets each while Trent Boult and Yuzvendra Chahal took 1 wicket each.
Jos Buttler became Player of the Match in this game due to his outstanding batting performance. He scored 107 runs notout in just 60 balls.
After the win, Rajasthan remains at the top position with 12 points from 7 matches. Kolkata is second with 8 points from 6 matches.
