Kolkata won against Delhi last night

                                  

Kolkata Knight Riders defeated Delhi Capitals by 7 wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday.


Chasing a target of 154 runs, Kolkata scored 157 runs losing 3 wickets in 16.3 overs. Opener Phil Salt completes his half century. He played 33 balls and scored 68 runs in 33 balls with 7 fours and 5 sixes. Shreyas Iyer scored 33 and Vankatesh Iyer remained not out for 26 runs. Sunil Narine added 15 runs and Rinku Singh added 11 runs.

Delhi's Akshar Patle took 2 wickets and Lizad Williams took 1 wicket.


After winning the toss, Delhi scored 153 runs for 9 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs. Kuldeep Yadav scored the highest 35 not out for the team. He hit 5 fours and 1 six off 26 balls. Captain Rishabh Pant scored 27 runs. Apart from opener Prithvi Shah scoring 13 runs, another opener Jake Fraser scoring 12 runs, Abhishek Porel scoring 18 runs and Akshar Patel scoring 15 runs, none of the other batsmen could score runs in double figures.


Kolkata's Varun Chakraborty took 3 wickets, Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana took 2 wickets each and Mitchell Starc and Sunil Narine took 1 wicket each.

Varun Chakaravarthey became Player of the Match due to his magical bowling performance. He took 3 wickets just giving 16 runs in his 4 over spell.

Kolkata is in second place with 12 points from 9 matches. Rajasthan Royals at the top have 16 points. Delhi is in sixth place with 10 points from 11 games.
