Delhi Capitals won a thrilling 4-run win over Gujarat Titans in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Wednesday.
Chasing a target of 225 runs, Gujarat managed to score only 220 runs after losing 8 wickets with the help of Sai Sudarshan and David Miller's fifties. Sai scored 65 runs off 39 balls with 7 fours and 2 fours. David scored 55 runs off 23 balls with 6 fours and 3 fours. Apart from opener Wriddhiman Shah's 39, Sai Kishore's 13 and Rashid Khan's 21 not out, no other batsman could touch double figures.
Delhi's Rasik Salman took 3 wickets, Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets and Enrich Nortje, Mukesh Kumar and Akshar Patel took 1 wicket each.
Before that, with the help of Delhi captain Rishabh Pant and Akshar Patel fifties, who lost the toss and were invited to bat, made 224 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 20 overs. Rishabh scored 88 not out with the help of 8 sixes and 5 fours, who bowled 43 balls. Tristan Stubbs added 26 not out to him. Akshar scored 66 runs off 43 balls with the help of 5 fours and 4 fours. Opener Prithvi Shah scored 11 runs and another opener Jack Fraser added 23 runs.
Sandeep Warrier of Gujarat spent 15 runs in 3 overs and took 3 wickets and Noor Ahmed took 1 wicket.
Rishabh Pant became Player of the Match in this game due to his outstanding batting perforamance. He scored 88 runs in just 43 balls with the help of 5 boundaries and 8 sixes.
With 8 points from the same 9 matches, Delhi is sixth and Gujarat is seventh. The top ranked Rajasthan Royals have 14 points.
