Chennai win over Mumbai by 20 runs

 


Chennai Super Kings won the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday against Mumbai Indians. Chennai beat Mumbai by 20 runs.


Chasing a target of 207 runs, Mumbai managed to score only 186 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs despite Rohit Sharma's century. Rohit and Ishan Sharma got off to a strong start by adding 70 runs in 7.1 overs for the first wicket.
After Ishan got out after scoring 23 runs, Mumbai's rhythm was ruined. Suryakumar Yadav could not open the account while Tilak Verma added 31 runs and gave Tow some hope. However, as Rohit could not get good support from other players, Mumbai was alienated from the victory.
Tim David scored 13 runs. Rohit scored 105 not out with 5 sixes and 11 fours in 63 balls.


Chennai's Matheesha Pathirana took 4 wickets for 28 runs in 4 overs. Tushar Deshpande and Mustafizur Rahman took 1 wicket each.

After losing the toss, Chennai batted first and scored 206 runs for 4 wickets. Captain Gaekwad and Shivam Dubey scored half centuries. Rituraj scored 69 runs in 40 balls with 5 fours and sixes.
Shivam, who played 38 balls, scored 66 runs with 10 fours and 2 fours. Mahendra Singh Dhoni increased the score of the team by scoring 20 runs with 6 sixes in 4 balls. Rachin Ravindra scored 21 runs and Radel Mitchell scored 17 runs.

For Mumbai, Hardik Pandya took 2 wickets, Gerard Coetzee and Shreyas Gopal took 1 wicket each.

Matheesha Pathirana became Player of the Match in this game due to his exceptional bowling performance. He took 4 wickets with just giving 28 runs in his 4 overs.

In the fifth match, Chennai, who won the fourth match, is in the second position with 8 points. After suffering their fourth defeat in the sixth match, Mumbai is in the eighth position with 4 points.
