Chennai Super Kings won against Sunrisers Hyderabad by 78 runs

                         

Chennai Super Kings registered a comfortable victory in the second match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Sunday. Chennai registered a comprehensive victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad by 78 runs.


Chasing a huge target of 213 runs given by Chennai, Hyderabad were bundled out for 134 runs in 18.5 overs. Aidan Markram's innings of 32 runs was the highest for Hyderabad. Similarly, Heinrich Klaasen scored 20 runs and Abdul Samad added 19 runs. Travis Head and Nitish Reddy added 15 runs each.


Tushar Deshpande alone took 4 wickets for Chennai. Similarly, Mustafizur Rahman and Mathisha Pathirana took 2 wickets each. Ravindra Jadeja and Shardul Thakur 1 wicket each.


Before that, Chennai, who lost the toss and were invited to bat, scored 212 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs. Chennai captain Ruturaj Gaikwad failed to score a century but played a brilliant innings of 98 runs off 54 balls. Daryl Mitchell scored 52 off 32 balls. Similarly, Shivam Dubey added 39 runs.

Hyderabad's Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Natarajan and Jaydev Unadkat took 1 wicket each.

Ruturaj Gaikwad became Player of the Match in this game due to his brilliant innings. He scored 98 runs in 54 balls with the help of 10 boundaries and 3 sixes.

After the win, Chennai has climbed to the third position with 10 points from 9 matches. Defeated Hyderabad also has 19 points in 9 matches and is fourth on the basis of net run rate.
