RCB win over Punjab in the last over

                        

Royal Challengers Bangluru(RCB) has registered its first victory in the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League(IPL). In the match held at the home ground, RCB defeated Punjab Kings by 6 wickets. Chasing Punjab's target of 177 run, RCB completes in the final over with four balls remaining with loss of 6 wickets. For RCB, Virat Kohli scores 77 runs which include 11 boundaries in just 49 balls.

Punjab had set a target of 177 runs, which Royal Challengers Bangluru achieved with 4 balls remaining, losing 6 wickets in the process.

For RCB, Virat Kohli scores highest 77 runs in 49 balls including 11 boundaries and 2 sixes. Similarly, Dinesh Karthik played an explosive unbeaten innings of 28 runs including 3 boundaries and 2 sixes in just 10 balls. In Harshal Patel's 19th over, he scored 13 runs including a boundary and a six.

In the final over, needing 10 runs, Karthik hit a six off the first ball, followed by a wide delivery. Then, he sealed a victory with a boundary of the next ball.

The impact player for RCB, Mahipal Lomror  scored 17 runs off 8 balls, before getting out, while Rajat Patidar managed to score only 18 runs of 18 balls.


For Punjab, Kagiso Rabada and Harpret Brar took 2 wickets each, while Shams Mulani and Harshal Patel took 1 wicket each.


Earlier after losing the toss and being put to bat first, Punjab had scored 176 runs losing 6 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Captain Shikhar Dhawan was the highest run scorer for Punjab with 45 runs off 37 balls. Jitesh Sharma contributed 27 runs, Prabhsimran Singh scored 25 runs and Shahrukh Khan added 23 runs. Shashank Singh contributed 21 runs.

For RCB, Mohammad Siraj and Glen Maxwell took 2 wicket each, while Yash Dayal and Yalzarri Joseph took 1 wicket each.

Virat Kohli announced the retirement from t20I
