Lucknow won against Punjab by 21 runs

                        

Lucknow Super Giants won the only match under the Indian Premier League on Saturday. Lucknow managed to win by 21 runs against Punjab King.


Chasing a huge target of 200 runs, Punjab managed to score only 178 runs after losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. For Punjab, Shikhar Dhawan scored 70 runs off 50 balls with 7 fours and 3 sixes.

Opener Jonny Bairstow scored 42 runs off 29 balls. Similarly, Liam Livingstone scored 28 runs off 17 balls. Other batters did not put up a memorable performance.

For Lucknow, Mayank Yadav managed to take 3 wickets on debut while Mohsin Khan took 2 wickets.


Before that, he won the toss and chose to bat. Lucknow lost 8 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs and added 199 runs. Opener Quinton de Kock scored 54 runs off 38 balls.

Similarly, Krunal Pandya scored 43 runs and Nicholas Puran, who was the captain today, scored 42 runs.

Punjab's Shyam Karan took 3 wickets, Arshdeep Singh 2 wickets and Kagisho Rabada and Rahul Chahar 1 wicket each.

Mayank Yadav become Player of the Match(POM) in this game due to his outstanding bowling performance of 3 wickets with giving only 27 runs in his spell.

This is Lucknow's first win in the second game. Punjab has managed to win 1 out of 3 matches.
