Delhi won against Rajasthan by 20 runs

                             

Delhi Capitals maintained their hopes of reaching the playoffs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by registering a victory over Rajasthan Royals. By registering a 20-run victory over Rajasthan, Delhi still has the possibility of reaching the playoffs.

Chasing the huge target of 222 runs given by Delhi, Rajasthan managed to score only 201 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

For Rajasthan, captain Sanju Samson scored 86 runs in 46 balls with 8 fours and 6 sixes but could not avoid defeat. The second biggest score for Rajasthan was 27 runs scored by Ryan Parag.

In Delhi's victory, Khalil Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav took 2 wickets each while Akshar Patel and Rashikh Salam took 1 wicket each.

Before that, Delhi lost the toss and batted at the home ground Arun Jaitley Stadium, losing 8 wickets in 20 overs and added 221 runs. For Delhi, opener Abhishek Porel scored 65 runs off 36 balls with the help of 7 fours and 3 sixes. Another opener hit 7 fours and 3 sixes to score 50 runs off 20 balls.

Tristan Stubbs scored 41 runs in 20 balls including 3 fours and 3 sixes.

Rajasthan's Ravichandran Ashwin took 3 wickets while Trent Boult, Sandeep Sharma and Yuzvendra Chahal took 1 wicket each.

After the win, Delhi has climbed to fifth place with 12 points in 12 games. Rajasthan is second with 16 points from 11 matches. Kolkata, which is in the first place, has 16 points in 11 matches. Asin Chennai in the third place, Hyderabad in the fourth place and Lucknow in the sixth place have the same 12 points in the same 11 games.
