Punjab Kings beat Kolkata Knight Riders by 8 wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Friday after Jonny Bairstow scored a brilliant not out century.
Chasing a target of 262 runs, Bairstow's century and Prabhsimran Singh and Shanshak Singh completed half-century with 2 wickets before 8 balls.
Bairstow scored 108 not out with the help of 9 sixes and 8 fours in 48 balls. Similarly, Shanshak scored 68 not out with the help of 8 sixes and 2 fours in 28 balls. Prabhasimran scored 54 runs in 20 balls with the help of 5 sixes and 4 fours. Riley Rossouw scored 26 runs off 16 balls with 2 sixes and 1 six.
Sunil Narine took 1 wicket for Kolkata.
Before that, Kolkata, who were invited to bat after losing the toss, scored 261 runs for 6 wickets in the scheduled 20 overs with the half-centuries of Phil Salt and Sunil Narine.
Salt and Narine got off to a strong start scoring 138 runs for the first wicket. Salt scored 75 runs off 37 balls with 6 sixes and a four. Narine scored 71 runs off 32 balls with 9 fours and 4 sixes.
